Welcome to First Parish Bridgewater!
We are an inclusive, caring, committed, and welcoming spiritual home that fosters growth through worship, fellowship, and service. We welcome all who are looking for a place where families and friends join together for personal growth, social justice, a loving community, and support at all stages of life.
Our modern Unitarian Universalist congregation traces its roots back to the early history of the Town of Bridgewater.
Through an act of the General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, permission was granted to English settlers to establish a new precinct known as South Parish. This
precinct was incorporated June 1, 1716. Our present church building, built in 1845, is the third one on this site.
Through our Land Acknowledgement, we acknowledge that our church building sits on the traditional land of the Wampanoag, Massachusett and Pokanoket peoples.
We recognize that this land was stolen from the people indigenous to this continent during colonization and we commit ourselves to working towards equity and justice.
First Parish is a member congregation of the Unitarian Universalist Association.
